Marcos Lutyens yra tarpdisciplininis menininkas, savo kūrybą pristatęs tokiose erdvėse ir renginiuose kaip (d)OCUMENTA 13, LACMA (Los Andželas), Pompidou Centras (Paryžius), Royal Academy (Londonas). Jis nuolat pasitelkia įvairius instrumentus bei prieigas, nagrinėdamas sąmonę bei su ja susijusius reiškinius.

Lutyens įsitraukė į eksperimentus su Dr. V. S. Ramachandran, Smegenų ir pažinimo centro Kalifornijos universitete, San Diege, direktoriumi, tyrinėdamas nervines smegenų trajektorijas sintetiniame prote. Šių eksperimentų vedamas Lutyens kuria parodas bei įvykius, kuriuose atsispindi specifinių socialinių bei etninių grupių, tokių kaip Muxhe, Zapotekų kultūros atstovų iš pietų Meksikos, tyrinėjimai. Remdamasis sąmonės ir socialinės dinamikos tyrimais, Lutyens taip pat dirbo su didelės apimties projektais, apimančiais interaktyvumą, aplinką bei naujas technologijas. Šie darbai apima vidinių ir išorinių duomenų sekimą bei smegenų bangų matavimą, kurie paprastai nėra matomi, tačiau vis tik yra nepaprastai svarbūs vidiniams procesams bei pažinimui.
